The view from the beginning

Heading to the pump room.

This was the start of the journey through pitville park which started off questionable. I didn’t know what to expect because I had never been here before so my first impression was what I remembered. This gorgeous structure of the pump room stood out the most. The street view framed it perfectly however the standard of the buildings surrounding were surprising as they were a lot more run down than I thought they would be. The pavement we’re roughy amended by patches or tarmac making it unravel and messy, the fronts of the houses were standard and of no significance, as well as the small front gardens with no fences. This makes me feel like not much money is put into the surroundings of pitville park, and only when you’re in the park it feels like there’s lots of maintenance time and money is spent on the site.

One you arrive in the park, the main thing to notice is the atmosphere around the pump room, many used it as a stopping place, where the cafe is and benches are chained to the pillars of the pump room. This makes it seem as if it’s a flexible place, you’re able to move the benches if you wish, they’re not there to stay, it also presents as not the safest place as they have to chain up there benches. Once you got into the park, the views from the outside banish, all your focused on is what is in the park, it’s framed by the ancient trees which lie there and I think the view sits just far enough to keep you interested and follow in that direction
