Weston

This was a photo of weston-super-Mares pier. I went here a few months ago and fell in love with the dark structure of the stands compared to the sea level, filled with soft colours of the sand and sea. I loved how this structure grounded the horizon, instead of stepping out and seeing it go on for miles and miles on end, it sits in the middle obstructing the flat view and making an interest. I think this can be also used in landscape where you have a vast landscape and you can put a monument of interest to separate and categorise areas. Or you can do it the opposite way round and make views go in for longer to either frame a view or make it seem as if it goes on for miles by never being able to see the end of your route, this is a very cleaver thing used in landscape design, which I learnt a lot about it by it through Kathryn Gustafson lectures.
