Gross Max

 

Completed in 2008, Windrush Square is my favourite project from Gross Max Landscape Architects. I think its a 'mild' landscape, the type that doesn't jump in your face when you walk past, its not bold but it works. Its a good functioning landscape that reflects the shape of the buildings in a sort of geometric layout balanced with curved edges. 

I really like the grass spaces and think the space is split up well, it has a water feature and large paved areas to suit the function of the space. 

There's a funky art feature, coloured pale and dark green, it creates balance with the tall tree adjacent to it. 

I think this design was heavily influenced by a route through and dynamic space, which I really like.
