Making the most of space, in a world where its most valuable

North place brain storming and all that... 

This is my design of the roof top gardens I created on top of the car park. These will be productive gardens that are both somewhere to visit and somewhere that provides seasonal produce, lessons on growing your own food, and a place to start a community of its own. 

The views on the top floor of the building will reach far not only creating a birds eye view of the park, but of the whole town. This is important to create a completely different sense of place, changing the micro climate, views and feel all together. 

The live work units will also have gardens placed on top, these will be private for the shops below and for the people living there to create there own garden. 

The amphitheatre aims to be semi enclosed, a bit more personal, for the public to use on the day to day, visiting, admiring the architecture, then in the evenings and special events, theatre to be held there, mini concerts and speakers for the universities to use. I would like groups to regularly use this in the evening to create a strong atmosphere, radiating energy. The trinity church would have access and hopefully regularly use in the summer months.

The glass overhead canopy would aim to give a surreal reflection of the stain glass used, while enclosing the sound off of the stage. This would all add to the atmosphere of the area.  

Underneath the seating would be  a 2 story building dedicated to clubs and practice that would hire out the Theatre. There would be a viewing gallery above the seats for indoor seating.
